On 20th June 2016, the exhibition Eye on Poland: New Graphic Design from Poland was opened at the Kyungpook National University Art Museum in Daegu city. After the presentation at the Korea Foundation Gallery in Seoul in 2015, it is the second Korean edition of the exhibition showcasing contemporary Polish graphic design.
The exhibition is curated by graphic designers Magdalena and Artur Frankowski of the Fontarte studio and the exhibited works include posters, books, exhibition catalogues as well as CD and vinyl record covers, majority of which were commissioned by cultural institutions, museums, foundations and art galleries.
The first Korean edition of the Eye on Poland exhibition was held in December 2015 at the Korea Foundation Gallery in Soul, attracting great interest of the visitors. Consequently, following presentations of the exhibition were scheduled for 2016, in venues such as Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Mumbai City Museum (former Victoria and Albert Museum, Bombay, India) or Kyungpook National University Art Museum in Daegu.
Kyungpook National University Art Museum is divided into three exhibition halls, which exhibit and researech modern and contemporary art works. As the Museum is located in the premises of the prestigious Kyungpook National University, a major educational institution in Daegu, chances are that the two-month exhibition of Polish graphic design attracts not only visual arts lovers or Polish culture fans, but also students and academics of the University.
The project is carried out by Culture.pl in cooperation with the Korea Foundation and the Kyungpook National University Art Museum.
